Presidential Search Update

Dear University of Michigan Community,

The Board of Regents is pleased to announce that we are officially commencing the search for the 16th president of the University of Michigan. The Board is unified and committed to identifying and hiring a visionary and dynamic leader who embodies our core values and demonstrates a proven record of excellence and leadership across complex organizations.

Spencer Stuart, a globally recognized executive search firm, has been selected to lead the search initiative. Spencer Stuart brings extensive experience in higher education leadership searches. Our Spencer Stuart executive search professionals are Mary Gorman, Partner, Education & Social Impact Practice, and Alexis Stiles, Global Leader, Healthcare Practice, LSA ’91, MHSA/MBA ‘94.

Over the next few weeks, we will finalize our planning and announce key components of the search process, including the following:
