July 13, 2026 Presidential Search Update

Dear campus community,

The search for the university’s next president is ongoing, and the search committee continues to make progress in identifying and evaluating outstanding candidates to lead our institution.

This is an important decision for our entire community. The Regents remain committed to a thoughtful and inclusive process that reflects the university’s values, priorities, and aspirations.

As a reminder, we encourage members of the campus community to continue sharing feedback, perspectives, and suggestions. Your input is an important part of understanding the qualities, experiences, and leadership attributes that will best serve our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and broader community.

We also welcome nominations of individuals who may be strong candidates for consideration. Recommendations can include leaders from higher education, research, industry, government, or other fields whose experience and vision align with the opportunities and challenges facing the university and higher education.
